Advice Project Manager – Energy Project at Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice Brighton & Hove is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advice Project Manager - energy to lead the delivery of high-quality advice and outreach services across the city. You will bring strong skills in advice supervision, service management, and partnership working, ensuring that our advice meets the needs of clients and meets the required quality standards. You will be responsible for line management and casework supervision of advisers and administrators.

Role purpose:
Citizens Advice Brighton & Hove is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advice Project Manager - energy to lead the delivery of high-quality advice and outreach services across the city.
You will bring strong skills in advice supervision, service management, and partnership working, ensuring that our advice meets the needs of clients and meets the required quality standards.

This role manages a portfolio of advice projects, currently including Energyworks, Outreach advice and training — each supporting residents through energy advice, income maximisation, and community outreach. While the projects have an energy and fuel poverty focus, we welcome applications from advice managers who are keen to develop expertise in energy advice through training and support.

You will be responsible for line management and casework supervision of advisers and administrators, monitoring performance and compliance, and contributing to service development across CABH.
We are looking for a confident manager who can lead an advice team, develop partnerships, and maintain a strong commitment to our values of accessibility, fairness and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Supervision

Lead the management, monitoring, reporting and delivery of citywide advice and outreach projects.
Line manage and supervise advisers and administrators, providing advice supervision to casework level across a range of issues
Hold a small caseload where required.
Ensure that advice delivery meets Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and Citizens Advice quality requirements.
Coordinate advisers’ caseloads and outreach activity to meet service and funder targets.
Provide advice supervision and support to advisers across CABH when needed.

Service Delivery and Development

Build and maintain effective partnerships with community organisations, local authorities, and housing partners to support advice delivery in outreach settings.
Oversee the delivery and quality assurance of the outreach advice and training programme, ensuring its quality and impact.
Contribute to continuous improvement of CABH’s advice services, developing new opportunities and supporting funding bids.
Ensure compliance with CABH policies, procedures, GDPR, and funder requirements.
Support the development of communication and promotional materials for advice projects.
Energy and Outreach (Current Project Focus)
Engage with training to develop or strengthen specialist knowledge in energy advice and income maximisation.
Support and supervise advisers working on energy and fuel poverty issues, ensuring quality and consistency of advice.
Work with housing and landlord partners to improve tenants’ conditions and raise awareness of energy efficiency and tenants’ rights.
Ensure that advice provided through outreach and training initiatives is inclusive, impartial, and client-centred.

Reporting and Data Management

Ensure accurate data collection and case recording on CABH systems.
Produce monitoring reports and analysis in line with funder and organisational requirements.
Support staff to maintain administration and recording systems.

Professional Development

Complete Citizens Advice casework and supervision training (if not already held).
Undertake City & Guilds Level 3 Energy Awareness or equivalent training (if not already held).
Keep up to date with legislation, policies and best practice relevant to advice delivery.

Other

Uphold CABH’s aims, principles, and policies.
Participate in research and campaigns work through case evidence and reporting.
Work flexibly to ensure continuity of service and contribute to organisational priorities.
