Accessing the room and directing participants to the venue
Visit reception (North Wing) if your booking is during reception opening hours. If your booking falls outside of reception opening hours, you must visit reception in advance of your booking to collect an access fob.
Please ensure your participants have been contacted in advance about where to come and how to contact you if they get lost.
Participants should be directed to the South Wing entrance, and use the intercom to dial 1222 for SW2, 1333 for SW3 or 1555 for the Conference Room. The phone in the room will ring and you can press the ‘SW Door’ button to open the door for them.
Some event organisers prefer to wait at the door for participants.
During reception opening hours, any participants arriving at reception will be directed to South Wing.
Register to book rooms
To get started, you should appoint a named contact person responsible for all matters relating to your group’s bookings (you may have a separate contact for invoicing).
This contact person must:
- Read our Room Hire Contract
- Then register by completing our Room Hire Account Request Form including a scan or photo of your signature.
- If you cannot upload your signature, please email a photograph of your signature to roombooking@communitybase.org
Please note that it takes about 3 working days for us to process your request form, this process may take longer if the reception team is unusually busy.
If you are registering to book a room for the next 48 hours, you may want to consider another venue.
Once we have checked and approved the Room Hire Contract we will set up an account for you on our online room booking system and confirm with you by email, you will then receive log in details for the room booking system, Skedda.
If Brighton and Hove City Council are paying for your booking you need to include a valid council payment code when you book.
Room bookers must comply with our policies, including our Equalities Policy.
