Trustee at Brighton Students’ Union

Brighton Students’ Union is a dynamic and inclusive charity that exists to Make Student Life Better for the 20,000 students studying at the University of Brighton. We do this through representation, campaigning, societies, social events and running commercial outlets.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

We are seeking 2 external trustees to help us lead and guide our work. We are particularly looking for people who have experience in one or more of the following areas: Diversity & Inclusion, Marketing, Communications, Charity Law.
We would really welcome applications from people from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority backgrounds to more closely reflect the members we support.
You will be required to attend 6 meetings a year (during office hours). The role is unpaid, but out of pocket expenses are reimbursed, including childcare and additional support as required.

What induction, training and support is offered?

Full training will be provided.

What skills or qualities are needed?

You don’t need any previous experience of being a Trustee as full training will be given. You just need enthusiasm and to share our values of being Supportive, Transparent, Approachable, Dynamic and Inclusive.
