What does the opportunity involve doing?

We are looking for people to volunteer to be a trustee and who have a strategic vision, independent judgement and a willingness to give time and commitment to being a trustee. We would especially welcome individuals with previous experience of human resources, fundraising, finance, the voluntary and community sector or being a trustee. Trustees aren’t paid, but it’s a rewarding experience and you can
easily make an impact. The Trustee Board meet bi-monthly and hold a strategy day year
annually. Switchboard strives to achieve diversity and inclusion at all levels throughout the organisation,
and to ensure we are working with and for all sections of our LGBTQ communities. We
particularly welcome applications from anyone who identifies as QTIPOC or LGBTQ
BAMER, trans and non-binary people, trans women of colour, intersex people,
refugees, migrants or asylum seekers, people of faith, older people and disabled people
as these groups are currently under-represented on our Trustee board.

What induction, training and support is offered?

Inductions will be given by the Chair and other opportunities for training are available, plus there is onboard learning & upskilling and sharing knowledge.

What skills or qualities are needed?

We are looking for a broad spectrum of skills and experience especially in the voluntary sector, fundraising, community engagement, HR, strategic thinking and financial acumen
