Tree Nursery Volunteer

Special Branch Tree Nursery raise native trees and hedgerow shrubs from Sussex collected seeds for local environmental projects; we are a not for profit organisation; we are run entirely by volunteers.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

This opportunity involves raising trees from seed; transplanting; pruning; composting; wild-flower meadow; pond and orchard management; plant and wildlife identification; general organic horticulture practice; all year round activities.

What induction, training and support is offered?

Full training; explanation and demonstrations are given to all appropriate activities.

What skills or qualities are needed?

Minimum age 16. No previous horticultural skills required; enthusiasm for the outdoors, gardening and nature are useful.
