Tarner is a small charity in the centre of Brighton, serving community needs, through a community project working with children and young people. www.tarner.org.uk We manage a park and designated play areas using our bespoke community venue to work with around 500 children ( 4-11) and over 800 young people a year.
We run community events and produce art work with our children and young people. through positive play and informal learning opportunities we enable children and young people to thrive and transition to adulthood in a kind, caring and stimulating project.

Our trustees also have the opportunity to volunteer at community events and represent us at networking events across Brighton and Hove,

Training can be given and our board of trustees are a great group who meet bi monthly for under 2 hours a month to oversee our work and support us to meet regulation requirements and build on our successes.

We are audited by an independent accountant.
Our treasurer will ideally be someone who has money management or budget experience, it would be beneficial if they come from the area, but any candidate with the right experience and attitude will be warmly welcomed and supported.

Experience of running clear simple budgets that can be understood by a lay person.

An accountancy qualification is not essential as we are independently audited.

This role could be dine from home, but we believe that working in a group creates a stronger more representative project and can be creative.
