Office assistant at Brighton & Hove Talking Newspaper for the Blind

Provides audio news for the blind and visually impaired in the Brighton area.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

We are short of volunteers and deciding whether the charity can continue, hence the short timeframe. We need people who can give a two or three hours a month to help us run the office in Mafeking Road, Brighton, run the mixing desks in the studio when we are recording items (not hard, honest!) and post out the USB sticks with the recordings. It is a very light commitment, but very valuable work. It would suit a retired person who is going to be in Brighton for a while.

What induction, training and support is offered?

Not much training is needed, just an explanation of how the office works. Should only take half an hour. Training on the mixing desk (if you want to do it) might take an hour.

What skills or qualities are needed?

Commitment to improving the lives of others.
