Fundraising Coordinator at New Venture Theatre

What does the opportunity involve doing?

The Fundraising co-ordinator will:
- Plan fundraising activities, such as social evenings, comedy events,
quizzes etc. at the
theatre, to raise funds
- Research and seek funding from sources such as trusts, grants, local
businesses and organisations, arts bodies etc.
- Keep our audience and members informed of funding needs and updates
on expenditure
- Explore imaginative ways within the theatre to raise funds and maximise income
Experience of fundraising and/or arts fundraising would be very
beneficial but is not essential.

We have recently launched a five-year programme of work called ‘Renewal
at New Venture’, to undertake important restoration and enhancement of
our beautiful Grade 2 listed building. This is an exciting initiative
intended to combine essential repairs to the fabric of the building
with enhancements to our facilities and equipment designed to improve
the theatre experience and safeguard the New Venture Theatre for
future generations.

What induction, training and support is offered?

There will be a full introduction to the role and theatre from the Committee, with ongoing support from those currently working across the theatre.

What skills or qualities are needed?

Good verbal and interpersonal skills
Good organisational skills
Team working ability
Experience in fundraising and/or within a fundraising is beneficial but not essential.
