Our vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. We raise money to research cures and treatments, so we can give people more time with the ones they love.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
The Brighton Marathon and 10K are events which take place in Brighton. Starting in Preston Park and finishing on Brighton beach, these events have over 225 runners taking part and raising funds for the BHF.
We need your support to cheer on our runners from our cheer point, to show how much we appreciate their efforts and to motivate them to the finish line.
As part of our cheer team, you’ll be at the very heart of our runner’s event day experience. You’ll get to enjoy one of the biggest events in the country, while helping to motivate and create an unforgettable atmosphere for our BHF participants.
We’ll need your loudest cheers and unending enthusiasm to motivate our runners as they run past
The role of a cheer point volunteer includes:
Helping setup the cheer point at the start of the day
Cheering on our runners, encouraging them and ensuring they have a great event day.
Liaising with local people and support the general running of the cheer point.
Helping take apart the cheer point at the end of the day if required
There are two shifts available on the day. Volunteers are welcome to join us for either or both shifts.
What induction, training and support is offered?
Training and information brief sent out before the event.
On the day support from a member of the BHF Team.
What skills or qualities are needed?
No special skills required - just your enthusiasm.
