The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Our volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland, and our seasonal lifeguards look after people on busy beaches.
RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824 but we’re more than a rescue service. We influence, supervise and educate people too. Our Community Safety teams explain the risks and share safety knowledge with anyone going out to sea or to the coast. And our international teams work with like-minded organisations to help tackle drowning in communities at risk all around the world.
We need your help so we can keep raising funds to allow our life-saving service to continue.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
The RNLI has a network of local fundraising teams organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each branch and guild is supported by a Community Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the team members themselves.
In Brighton there are so many events and opportunities from fairs to Pride to our own Mayday Mile sponsored walk along the beach on the 14th May 2022. Even if you can only spare a few hours a month your help at events and collections would be really appreciated.
