Alcohol Change UK is a leading UK alcohol charity, formed from the merger of Alcohol Concern and Alcohol Research UK.
We are Alcohol Change UK. We work for a society that is free from the harm caused by alcohol.
We are not anti-alcohol; we are for alcohol change. We are for a future in which people drink as a conscious choice, not a default; where the issues which lead to alcohol problems – like poverty, mental health issues, homelessness – are addressed; where those of us who drink too much, and our loved ones, have access to high-quality support whenever we need it, without shame or stigma.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
Alcohol Change UK is bringing its largest team of runners yet to Brighton Half Marathon. As part of our charity taking part in the race, we are committed to bringing down volunteers to come down and form part of the 450+ volunteers that make the race happen each year.
The Altra Brighton Half Marathon wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the goodwill and support from volunteers like you. You are the backbone of the race; without volunteers, it wouldn't be possible!
The race requires lots of volunteers on race day, from helping out with road marshalling to helping with drinks at the drinks stations, medals at the finish line and helping in our baggage facility. There is also an opportunity to help in the family-friendly race on Saturday.
What induction, training and support is offered?
A volunteer handbook will be provided from the charity, there will also be communication from Altra Brighton Half Marathon team who will provide more details and support once you choose the role
