Admin Volunteer in South East- Virtual at Cruse Bereavement Support

We offer support through our website, national helpline, live chat, group, zoom, telephone or one-to-one in person support. We want to make sure everyone grieving gets the help they need in a way that works for them. We have a specially trained dedicated team of 4,000 bereavement volunteers.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Do you have strong admin skills and a good listening ear? If so we would love to hear from you!
Cruse Bereavement Support is recruiting more volunteers to support branches in South Kent, East Kent, West Kent, and North East Kent (remote opportunities available) to ensure that services are delivered effectively at a local level.
All volunteers are expected to undertake a bereavement training program before starting any role with Cruse. This is a fantastic opportunity to volunteer locally for the UK’s leading national bereavement charity that has been supporting people for over 60 years. You will be supported from start to finish with ongoing training and peer support whilst making a real difference to the lives of bereaved people where you live.
For more information, contact Sarah- Jayne on 07802 827287 or email eastkentwithswale@cruse.org.uk

What induction, training and support is offered?

Our next Bereavement Support Foundation Course starts on Saturday 27th February and places are limited (internet and Zoom access required).

What skills or qualities are needed?

There are a number of opportunities available including (but not limited to):-
Referrals and Allocations
You will be the first person a bereaved person speaks to at what is likely to be one of the most distressing times in their lives. You will actively listen as they tell their story whilst being able to gather important and factual data needed to add them to our database.
Administration
You will be a confident I.T user who is able to check emails and respond accordingly. A large part of this role will be liaising between volunteers and the referrals team to ensure that all emails and calls are forwarded and that nothing gets lost in the system as well as updating volunteer details and ensuring training records are kept up to date.
Donations and Fundraising
If you have strong I.T skills and would like to help raise vital funds without shaking tins or knocking on doors this could be a good role for you!! Liaising closely with the referrals team you will co-ordinate the donations process, sending out the correct information at every step of the client journey. If you can keep an eye out for local fundraising opportunities too even better!!
