Purple Playhouse Theatre

The Purple Playhouse Theatre near 7 Dials is a fully licensed, accessible community resource. It's also much more than a theatre – we’re part of the Grace Eyre Foundation, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities. All profits generated are reinvested in Grace Eyre’s many projects and programmes supporting people with learning disabilities in Brighton & Hove and beyond.

The Purple Playhouse Theatre is a fantastic space to hire near 7 Dials and is an ideal place to host your performances, birthday parties, wedding parties, corporate events and more! The Purple Playhouse Theatre and café/bar are fully licensed and can be hired together.

Situated on the first floor of the Grace Eyre Foundation building at the corner of Montefiore Road and Old Shoreham Road, the theatre was officially launched in 2012 but has been part of Grace Eyre for over 25 years.

As part of an old church, the beautiful theatre has a wooden floor and vaulted wooden ceiling. It has a large stained-glass window above the stage allowing light to stream in during the day. With curtains and by night, the space becomes cosy and intimate. The theatre can be accessed via stairs or a lift.
