Shift Pattern: Shifts include late and early shifts: 8am-4pm, 2pm-10pm with some mid-shifts.
Service Details:
Brighton Women’s Service launched in January 2018 and is a women’s - only residential project providing 9 high/complex support needs beds and 9 medium support needs beds. The service has a Trauma Informed approach using a Psychologically Informed Environment's model.
As a recovery worker, you will have responsibility for providing high quality, person centered, support in line with the Equinox Mission, Values and Strategy. The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults who are vulnerable and have multiple and complex needs. You must be willing to work flexibly, which includes weekday hours, evenings and weekend working.
Experience
• Experience of working in the care sector with vulnerabilities.
• Experience of effective communication, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
• Experience and Understanding of women specific support services would be a distinct advantage.

• Ability or willingness to learn how to build effective working relationships across multiple teams both inside and outside of the organisation. Be able to sustain these through complex situations.
• Service orientated. Motivated to deliver a high quality service and have the ability to empower others to deliver their best.
• Responsible for having an appropriate balance between being responsive to the needs of people and managing within the framework of the organisation’s objectives.
• Calm and pragmatic. The Recovery Worker will need to deal with conflicting interests of needs, resources and\or time so needs an ability to remain calm and retain a sense of key priorities when under pressure.

• Well-developed Organisational Skills and the ability to see the bigger picture.
• Forward-thinker interested in continual improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
• Implement the service’s policies and procedures in order to deliver the overall programme using a person centred, recovery focused approach.
• Provide key work and support planning for residents, with relevant interventions such as life skills support, to help successful recovery in line with resident's personal goals.
• Encourage residents to develop social networks and undertake meaningful activities to assist them to develop positive coping mechanisms and reintegrate into the wider community.
• Explore resettlement options for residents and assist them to move on successfully to appropriate housing options.
• Maintain a standard of service as required by Commissioners and Equinox to deliver a safe and effective service.
• Responsible for the maintenance of a healthy, safe and psychologically informed environment that includes the security of the building, fabric and grounds.
• Ensure that information is shared appropriately within the team and with other professionals and that all residents and service records are accurate and up to date.
• To complete support plans, case notes and other documentation for managers as required in a timely and accurate manner.
• Liaise with relevant and appropriate agencies and services to provide information, advice, support and treatment where necessary in relation to physical and mental health, substance misuse, education, employment and training, life skills and any other identified support needs.
• Encourage and support residents to participate in the running and development of the service and activities/interventions that support self-management and independent living.
• Ensure the consistent and effective implementation of the Equinox Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedures.
• Participate in reflective learning sessions within the framework of a Psychologically Informed Environment, team meetings and ongoing training and development as identified by Equinox and in ongoing lien management and annual appraisals.
