Oliver McGowan Facilitating Trainers – Tier 1 and Tier 2 at Impact Initiatives

We’re recruiting Facilitating Trainers (Tier 1 online & Tier 2 in-person) to join our Lived Experience Training team, supporting autistic trainers and trainers with learning disabilities to deliver the national Oliver McGowan Training for professionals in health, social care and related services.

Help make services more inclusive for autistic people and people with learning disabilities.

We’re recruiting two Facilitating Trainers to join our Lived Experience Training team and deliver the national Oliver McGowan Training across Sussex.

Both roles involve working alongside autistic trainers and trainers with learning disabilities to design and deliver engaging sessions that help professionals in health and social care better understand inclusion and communication needs.

We actively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and identities – especially those with lived experience of autism, learning disability or neurodivergence – and from communities currently under-represented in our workforce.

- Tier 1 Facilitating Trainer
Focus: Online delivery
You’ll facilitate virtual sessions for professionals across Sussex, supporting co-trainers with lived experience to deliver impactful and accessible online learning.

Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Oliver McGowan Tier 1 training online
- Supporting co-trainers to prepare, present and manage technology
- Ensuring materials and processes are accessible and inclusive
- Coordinating registers, feedback and follow-up actions

- Tier 2 Facilitating Trainer
Focus: In-person delivery
You’ll support the delivery of face-to-face Tier 2 training sessions, working with co-trainers and health and social care providers to create inclusive, engaging learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering in-person training sessions across Sussex
- Supporting co-trainers with session planning, travel and access needs
- Liaising with venues and ensuring resources are inclusive and suitable
- Managing registers, feedback and administration

We’re looking for people who can demonstrate:
- Understanding of barriers faced by autistic people and people with learning disabilities
- Experience delivering training (online or face-to-face) in health, social care or education
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Ability to balance support for co-trainers with learner needs
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
