Head of Fundraising & Development at Audioactive

We’re looking for an ambitious, hands-on leader to help shape AudioActive’s next phase of growth, building the partnerships and income streams that power our work with young people. An experienced, proactive fundraiser who can think strategically and deliver hands-on — someone confident writing bids, building partnerships and spotting opportunities for growth. This is a key role at a pivotal moment for AudioActive, offering the chance to build on strong foundations.

What you’ll do
• Lead and deliver AudioActive’s fundraising and development strategy
• Grow income across trusts & foundations, tenders, contracts and partnerships
• Write high-quality bids, proposals and pitches
• Develop new business partnerships aligned with our mission
• Build strong relationships with funders, partners and supporters
• Work closely with the CEO and team to align income with programmes
• Track performance, manage targets and identify new opportunities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising leadership, planning and delivery
• Lead the development, implementation and review of AudioActive’s fundraising and development plan.
• Work with the CEO and Senior Management Team to align income-generation activity with organisational strategy
• Monitor and report progress against income targets
• Identify and respond to risks, challenges and opportunities
Fundraising, bids and income generation
• Lead and deliver income generation across trusts and foundations, tenders, contracts and commissions
• Build on established fundraising income while identifying and pursuing new opportunities
• Develop, write and submit high-quality bids, proposals and tenders.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to develop strong, evidence-based cases for support.
• Support the development of community fundraising and supporter-led income.
Business partnerships and development
• Develop and grow AudioActive’s business partnership offer.
• Identify, cultivate and secure new relationships with businesses
• Create compelling proposals for sponsorship, donations and longer-term partnerships.
Relationship management, stewardship and reporting
• Build, maintain and steward strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Build and steward strong relationships with AudioActive’s patrons and ambassadors
• Maintain oversight of grant milestones, reporting deadlines and funding requirements,
• Oversee and produce high-quality reports, updates and other communications
• Represent AudioActive confidently and credibly externally

Essential experience and knowledge
• A strong track record of securing income in a charity, arts, youth, cultural or community context.
• Demonstrable success in securing five and six figure income through tenders, commissions and business partnerships.
• Experience of developing and delivering fundraising plans and meeting income targets.
• Experience of building and stewarding strong external relationships
• Experience working both strategically and hands-on.
• Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the Code of Fundraising Practice and GDPR.
Essential skills and abilities
• Strong strategic thinking, with a practical and delivery-focused approach.
• Excellent writing and communication skills,
• Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively
• Strong planning, judgement and problem-solving skills,
• Confidence in developing project budgets and working with financial information.
• Strong organisational, administrative and digital skills,
• Desirable
• Experience of working in the youth, music, arts, culture or community sector.
• Experience of community fundraising, individual giving or supporter-led campaigns.
• Experience of reporting to Boards or senior leadership teams.
• Experience of working with, or strong knowledge of, the public and arts funding landscape, including Arts Council England.
• Understanding of the issues affecting young people and communities facing cultural, social and/or economic barriers.
