Benefits Caseworker at Assert Brighton And Hove

Benefits Caseworker   30 hrs per week with occasional evening work. Working pattern to be agreed. Salary: £23,000 p.a. plus pension for FT. Part Time pro rata. Fixed term contract until 31st December 2024.   ASSERT is a member led organisation that provides a range of support services for autistic adults in Brighton and Hove. We are recruiting a specialist benefits caseworker with the right skills, empathy and experience to take our work forward.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated with relevant experience and qualifications, skilled in working with individuals and engaging with statutory agencies. Individuals will also need strong administrative and IT skills and a commitment to challenging stereotypes and promoting our work.

The role: To undertake case work with individuals, specialising in supporting members in accessing the benefits that they are entitled to. A solid knowledge of the benefits system, benefits entitlements, application processes and local eligibility criteria will all be essential to the role. Supporting members in application processes, providing supporting evidence and advocating on members’ behalf are all crucial aspects of the role. In addition, this role requires general caseworker support skills and the ability to work reactively.
