Sensing Friends is now offering short term, one to one, counselling, at no cost, to young people who experience any kind of sensory need, such as visual, hearing or psychological needs. The counselling we offer focuses specifically on addressing issues such as low self esteem, difficulty socialising or forming friendship.
Sensing Friends provides emotional support for young people in Sussex through peer support groups and one to one support.
Our work focuses on building stronger more meaningful friendships between young people experiencing sensory issues and the social/ community barriers that can come with this. We support these young people and their peers to form deeper more meaningful connections with each other. We build on self confidence, self esteem and break down barriers that stem from negative stereotyping.
Most our support is offered in the lovely woodland setting of Moulsecoomb Forest Garden
We offer a range of services throughout the year including
* Creative and Expressive Arts and Craft Groups, staring in April 2020
* Circle of Friendship Peer Support, staring in April 2020
* One to One short term Counselling, available February 2020
