About the role
Breadwinners is seeking a passionate, motivated, and experienced Programme Manager & Team Lead to oversee the delivery of the Breadwinners Programme in Brighton. This is a unique opportunity to lead an award-winning grassroots initiative that empowers young people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds to build skills, gain their first UK work experience, and grow in confidence.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for leading a small, dedicated Brighton team and ensuring the smooth delivery of all aspects of the Breadwinners Programme. This includes team leadership, programme design and delivery, youth recruitment and engagement, safeguarding, operational oversight of market activities, and maintaining strong partnerships with local organisations and volunteers.

Support participants to make the most of their work experience, mentoring, and training.
Maintain regular communication with participants and volunteers via WhatsApp, email, and other platforms.
4. Operations & Market Support
Collaborate with the Market Coordinator to ensure smooth stall operations across Brighton’s markets.
Oversee health and safety, safeguarding, and best practice at stalls.
Provide training and hands-on support so participants and volunteers can gain confidence in customer service and teamwork.
Be available to occasionally support at weekend markets
5. Governance & Safeguarding
Ensure safeguarding and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
Uphold Breadwinners’ code of conduct and report any concerns promptly.
