Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (Training Position) at The Hangleton and Knoll Project

We are recruiting two Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) to train with us and be part of our new Health and Wellbeing Hub. You will be enrolled in a graduate diploma or postgraduate diploma training course at the University of Sussex. You will also work as a trainee in our service, using your newly developed skills you will be delivering brief, evidence-based interventions and guided self-help for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Youth Team at the Hangleton and Knoll Project. We are recruiting two Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) to train with us and be part of our new Health and Wellbeing Hub.

This is a rare chance to gain a nationally recognised NHS qualification, leading to a band 6 role, while working in an inclusive, creative, and collaborative service that puts young people at the centre. Based at our new Youth Centre, in Hangleton and Knoll in the West of Brighton & Hove.

We have 2 Full time (37 hours per week, including study time) Training Posts, that are Fixed Term for 1 Year

Salary is fixed at scale 11, £27,269 per annum

You'll also benefit from a 6% pension contribution (with a 3% employee contribution).

5 weeks of annual leave plus pro-rata bank holidays, and additional leave over Christmas.

Main Duties of the Job
You will be enrolled in a graduate diploma or postgraduate diploma training course at the University of Sussex. This course will deliver the national curriculum for CWPs. You will attend all elements of the university-based teaching activities and successfully progress through assessments.

For the remaining part of the week, you will work as a trainee in our service, using your newly developed skills. You will work within the limits of your experience and competence for your stage of training. You will be delivering brief, evidence-based interventions and guided self-help for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will receive high-quality supervision and support throughout. The role will involve developing close links with other service providers and statutory partners.
The training and service experience will equip you with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.
