Role Purpose: Provide tailored advocacy, advice and support to individuals and
families struggling with debts, and provide them with help to overcome and prevent
them from falling into similar situations again. This is a local service, working with
communities within Brighton & Hove.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will ideally have the required specialist debt
advice accreditation and have completed training to caseworker level. For trainees,
full training would be provided for the right candidate, although some experience of
advice giving or knowledge of financial services would be beneficial.
About you: We want people who are passionate about giving an effective service to those most
in need. You will need to demonstrate that you can engage skilfully with clients who
are vulnerable and distressed and have proven skills at working in a busy
environment.
You will be a highly motivated strong team player with excellent interpersonal and
organisational skills. You will have the ability to understand written and oral
information of some complexity; have good numeracy skills sufficient to compile
accurate financial statements and calculate benefits; and, have effective oral and
written communication skills for the purposes of negotiation and reporting.
This is a full time role, but part time hours could be considered for the right candidate.
