Personal Assistant (Sighted assistance) – Fixed Term, until 4th March 2023 Pay: £15 per hour. Location: Brighton & Hove and remote working. Hours: currently a maximum of 15 hours per week (to be reviewed), ideally spread across three days a week. Anticipated days initially Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Fridays. Days and times to be discussed with the successful candidate, some full days, weekend/evening work on occasions

Summary of the role
We are recruiting for a Personal Assistant (support worker) to work with Liz Porter. Liz has 2 P/T roles; BDBF’s Community Engagement Manager (Heritage – currently till end of March) and Head of Diversity and Inclusion RPMT (job-share – a permanent position)
Whilst recruitment will be undertaken through BDBF/RMPT, employment will be with Ellingham Employment, a charity organisation. *note on Ellingham Employment at the bottom of the page.
Liz’s roles are fast paced, and extremely varied. Concentrates on delivering the activity programme for BDBF’s Heritage Centre Stage project and for RPMT, supporting development of Diversity and Inclusion and delivery of the new Culture Change programme.
A key part of both roles involves working collaboratively with a vast range of internal staff and volunteers, departments, external partners and stakeholders and visitors.

Liz is visually impaired and deaf in her left ear.
We are looking for a Personal Assistant to offer sighted assistance to enable this person to fulfil their roles.
Your role will be part time and will be supported through the Access to Work Scheme.

The role will involve:
• Sighted guiding and description for wayfinding/orientation
• Travel route research and driving or accompanying on public transport
• Describing interpretation and visual materials of note such as signage, leaflets, art work and displays
• Sighted support, note taking and minute taking for meetings, focus groups, events, conferences and training (in person and online)
• IT support with Microsoft Office 365, including Teams and Sharepoint, and BDBF systems such as Artifax and Skedda (need to add in any specific RPMT
• Email inbox organisation and diary management, keeping a shared to-do list
• Assistance with completing paperwork such as filling out forms on paper and online, keeping records and receipts for expense claims
