Pelican Parcels takes pre-loved and new item donations for babies and children up to age 12 and redistributes these to families facing financial hardship via various existing family services in Brighton & Hove and Sussex.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about wanting to help local families and can help clean up and maintain our donated buggies and cots/beds using their practical skills.
A buggy offers a family freedom to get out of the house with ease. A clean and safe bed means children sleep well and are ready to learn.
Our warehouse hours are from Monday to Thursday, 10am till 2pm and we ask for 1 day commitment per week.
What induction, training and support is offered?
We will ask you to complete a couple of online trainings relevant to your role and you will be expected to complete a DBS.
We will provide training and shadowing opportunities to gain confidence in the role.
We currently have availability for training on Wednesday and Thursdays however please still get in touch if you have availability on Monday and Tuesdays. Email volunteer@pelicanparcels.org.uk and we will offer you a warehouse tour to find out more about the role.
