The Network of International Women for Brighton & Hove (NIWBH) is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the strategic direction and long-term sustainability of our charity. Together, we work to create safe, inclusive spaces where international women can access support, build connections, and thrive within their local community.
We are a hands-on, community-led charity and warmly welcome applications from people who are looking to be actively involved, contributing their time, skills, and ideas beyond formal board meetings where possible.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
Location: Brighton & Hove (in-person meetings)
Hours: Voluntary role – approximately 6 days per year, including 3–4 quarterly board meetings, AGM, and occasional ad-hoc input
Term: Typically 3 years, with the possibility of renewal (up to a maximum of 9 years)
What induction, training and support is offered?
Training will be provided to ensure trustees have a clear understanding of their legal
duties, responsibilities.
What skills or qualities are needed?
The Network is particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in finance, fundraising, or lived experience relevant to our community.
Logical and objective thinker, able to identify key issues and support robust decision-making.
A good communicator: empowers others, provides constructive challenge, voices opinions respectfully.
Creative thinker who brings new ideas.
Works effectively as part of a diverse team, valuing different perspectives.
IT and digital skills to support remote and collaborative working.
