Allsorts Youth Group Volunteer at Allsorts

At Allsorts Youth Project, we are on a mission to make sure every LGBTQ+ child in Sussex has the chance to make friends, build community & feel proud of who they are.

We want parents & carers to know they are not alone & feel confident supporting thier children. we want every adult in a LGBTQ+ child’s life - from their teacher to their gp - to be safe & welcoming.

Our vision is of a world where LGBTQ+ children & young people can be themselves and enjoy their lives.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Allsorts Youth Project is currently looking for Youth Group Volunteers! (4 hours per month)

The role of the Youth Group Volunteer is to support sessions, events & activities, including welcoming children & young people when they arrive, supporting them to engage in the activities, & helping with the set up of activities & clearing up.

We are seeking volunteers who can support our youth services in any of the following areas:
Crawley
Eastbourne
Brighton

Our groups last between 1-2 hours, and for our Crawley and Eastbourne there are two groups per evening which are separated by age range. Volunteers will be expected to arrive early to set up and stay to pack down and debrief.

As well as the standard youth groups there will also be activities, events and opportunities for children and young people which volunteers can assist with; for example Pride events.

Disabled applicants and accessibility
We warmly welcome applications from disabled people, and are happy to make any adjustments necessary to support disabled applicants through the recruitment process - just let us know what you need at volunteering@allsortsyouth.org.uk

Closing date: Tuesday 4th August 5pm

Interview date - Friday 14th August

We are committed to the personal development of all volunteers, therefore Allsorts adopts a supervision process which takes place twice a year.
