Lighthouse Project Space

Brighton’s first public, youth-led art space. Based in New England House’s lower ground floor, with its own entrance on Elder Place off London Road, this venue will provide creatives with a dynamic, multipurpose space to produce, create, perform, showcase and collaborate on artistic projects. The 130 square metre space transforms between exhibition, event, residency, and production modes. To book and check availability please email info@lighthouse.org.uk

A large multi-purpose space suitable for workshops, rehearsals, presentations, seminars, talks, acoustic performances, screenings, photoshoots, video shoots, short term studio space.

Please note that we are not able to accommodate public screenings, performances and exhibitions that are not part of Lighthouse’s artistic programme. There are also some restrictions regarding events that involve children and live music. Please see our FAQ’s for further information.

Lighthouse is an arts charity – by hiring one of our space you are supporting our artistic programme and charitable aims.

FACILITIES
The Project Space comes equipped with wifi & ceiling mounted data projectors and speakers. You can hire out additional equipment if needed including:

PA System & Microphones: £40+VAT
Technical Support is £25+VAT per hour (bookable for 4 hours minimum)
Please note: It will be necessary to book a Technician if your event involves a technical set-up and you are bringing in lots of your own equipment or you require AV support throughout your event.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Less than 48 hours notice: 80% of room hire and equipment costs.
Less than 5 days notice: 30% of room hire and equipment costs.

ACCESSIBILITY

This Project Space is on the ground floor of New England House, Elder Place, York Hill Corner, BN1 4GH.

We have step-free access just to the left of our space. The step-free ramp is 1 metre wide, after the ramp you reach a blue door please use the 'Lighthouse' doorbell, one of the team will come to let you in and you will then go through a door that is 34 in / 86.5cm wide and after that another door in to the space that is 33.5 in / 85cm wide. There is an accessible toilet in the space on the same floor. We have one accessible parking space that must be booked in advance.
