The YMCA Youth Advice Centre (YAC) offers support and guidance to young people in Brighton and Hove. The YAC team are able to offer expertise in a wide range of areas.
We have 3 main services:
Our housing advice service offers preventative support for 16–25-year-olds who may be considering leaving home, are having landlord struggles, or are at risk of homelessness (if you are immediately homeless you should go directly to the Brighton and Hove Council at Bartholomew House to make a homeless application).
Our support and advice service provides a safe and empathetic space for 13–25-year-olds, offering trauma-informed support and guidance for life, identity, wellbeing, and more.
Our family mediation service is a confidential, non-judgemental space for 16–25-year-olds and their families who may be experiencing conflict or relationship breakdown.
We also have a Food Market available for 16–25-year-olds, offering a wide range of food options to suit different dietary needs. £5 for 12 items, as well as free toiletries and period products!
We are proud to have been awarded The Allsorts Safer Spaces Award recognising our work to create a safe and inclusive space.
The service is open Monday to Thursday 9am-5:30pm, and Friday by appointment only.
Our drop-in times are Monday to Wednesday 1pm-5pm, Thursday 1pm-5:30pm.
