Travel Buddy Team Leader at The Grace-Eyre Foundation

Travel Buddy is a life-changing project that supports people with a learning disability and autistic people to travel safely, confidently and independently using public transport. Through one-to-one travel training, practical journey support, Drama and group workshops, we help people gain the skills and confidence they need to access education, employment, volunteering and social opportunities.

To see the difference Travel Buddy makes, watch our short video: "Grace Eyre Travel Buddy" on YouTube We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Travel Buddy Team Leader to lead and support our team of Travel Buddy Workers in delivering this successful and highly valued programme.

This is a rewarding opportunity to combine people leadership, project delivery and community partnership working, while making a meaningful difference to the lives of the people we support. Most importantly, you will see first-hand the positive impact that independent travel has on people's confidence, opportunities and quality of life.

As Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operation and delivery of the Travel Buddy programme, supporting staff to deliver individual travel training journeys and facilitating travel safety workshops. You will help ensure the project continues to achieve excellent outcomes for participants while meeting funder and organisational objectives.

As Team Leader, you will have overall responsibility for coordinating and supporting the delivery of Travel Buddy's key programmes, including 1-to-1 travel training, Drama on the Bus, and our three-part travel workshops, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard and achieve positive outcomes for the people we support.

We recognise the importance of supporting staff to work flexibly and will ensure that travel time and expenses are appropriately recognised. Some flexibility around working hours will be needed, particularly when supporting early morning journeys to colleges, workplaces or training opportunities.
