The ISVA’s role is to provide emotional support, information and practical advocacy support to adult males, or those who identify as male, survivors of sexual violence primarily but not exclusively through the criminal justice process. Due to the sensitive nature of this role and to meet the needs of our clients, being male is an occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Location: Hove, East Sussex
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £34,592 TTE NHS Agenda for Change band 5
Pension: Employer contribution 3%
Leave Entitlement: 240 hours per year (actual 240 hours pa)

Ideally you will already have an ISVA qualification and have worked in an ISVA role, but we are able to provide full ISVA training for candidates who have experience in another helping / support role.

The ISVA’s role is to provide emotional support, information and practical advocacy support to adult male survivors of sexual violence primarily but not exclusively through the criminal justice process.

You will provide a safe and trauma-informed response to your clients, ensuring that they understand their rights and the options open to them.
You will support clients through the criminal justice system, should they choose that route.
You will signpost clients to additional support from other agencies to ensure that all their identified support needs are met.

The role will be Hybrid at home and at our offices in Brighton and working alongside a team of counsellors. You will be expected to attend Court when required.
Our ideal candidate will have a qualification and experience in the ISVA role as well as a friendly and relational approach to working with clients. You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity.
