Money Advice Plus (MAP) is a registered charity, working both locally in Sussex and nationwide.
Our mission is to help people manage their money effectively. We do this by providing free
innovative money handling and advice services, working in partnership with other agencies.
Our independent, confidential and flexible approach is tailored to individuals’ needs, allowing us to
reach those who find it most difficult to access advice. Our vision is a community where people
have the advice and support they need to manage their own money effectively. We do this by
helping them to maintain control of their lives, promoting greater peace of mind.
Money Advice Plus provides a range of debt, benefit and budgeting advice and casework to help tackle some of the causes and effects of poverty and help protect people from financial abuse. We have offices
in Hove and Eastbourne and work both locally and nationally.
The work is varied and interesting, and our teams are very experienced in working with clients who
often find it hard to engage with advice services. We’re a friendly and supportive bunch and are
committed to supporting you to do well.
Please note this role requires a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check (to be completed
through Money Advice Plus on appointment).
Purpose of the job
We have a small team of Reception Workers who have a pivotal role within Money Advice Plus
and are crucial to the operation of our service. As the first point of contact for most people, you
will provide a welcoming, consistent and reliable reception service for clients and callers to our
office. You will contribute to the smooth running of the office by also carrying out a range of
administration tasks and other support to the team. You will also take responsibility for managing
the referrals and bookings for one of our advice projects. appointments as well as walking clients
through our data protection procedures.
Contract: This post is fixed term for one year, but may be extended subject to funding.
Location: Hove (based in Hove Town Hall)
Annual leave: Annual leave 25 days full-time entitlement (rising to 30 days after 5 years full service) plus Bank Holidays, plus 2 days discretionary leave over the Christmas period. Holiday entitlement is pro-rata according to contracted weekly hours.
Pension: 4% Pension contribution from employer
