Project Worker – Skywaves at Turning Tides

At Turning Tides, we’re passionate about tackling the complex issue of homelessness and transforming lives. Our mission goes beyond simply providing shelter; we strive to build a community where everyone has access to safe, secure housing and the support they need to thrive.

Skywaves offers 21 self-contained rooms, along with shared communal spaces, designed to provide a safe, supportive environment for those facing some of the most difficult challenges. It is a service tailored to meet the needs of individuals who are actively using substances, coping with dual diagnoses, mental health conditions, or have faced multiple exclusions from other services.

– You have a compassionate, person-centred approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals facing housing insecurity.

– Experienced in working with vulnerable populations, including those affected by homelessness, trauma, substance use, or mental health challenges.

– Strong communicator, able to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners to advocate for and support residents’ needs.

– Proficient in creating and managing personalized support plans, and skilled in documentation and record-keeping.

– Knowledgeable in trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches, with a commitment to promoting change and independence.

– Resilient and adaptable, capable of maintaining calm in challenging situations and de-escalating conflicts with empathy.

– Willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous support for residents.
