Post-16 Lead Tutor 3 days per week Tues, Weds, Thurs at Develop Outdoors CIC

We are seeking an experienced & enthusiastic Post-16 Lead Tutor to support young people aged 16–24 (primarily 16–18) with SEND & SEMH needs to develop confidence, gain accredited qualifications, & progress into employment, training, or further education. This role involves leading a small group programme (maximum 6 learners) where young people take part in practical learning, personal development & accredited units of work designed to build independence, employability skills & positive futures.

About the Programme
Develop Outdoors delivers alternative education programmes that combine accredited learning, practical activities, and personal development. Our courses are designed to help young people build resilience, develop life and employability skills, and move confidently towards positive future pathways.
Sessions are delivered in small groups of up to six learners, allowing tutors to provide personalised support and adapt learning to individual needs and interests.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Post-16 Lead Tutor to support young people aged 16–24 (primarily 16–18) with SEND and SEMH needs to develop confidence, gain accredited qualifications, and progress into employment, training, or further education.

This role involves leading a small group programme (maximum 6 learners) where young people take part in practical learning, personal development, and accredited units of work designed to build independence, employability skills, and positive future pathways.

You will plan and deliver engaging sessions, track learner progress, and provide consistent support to help young people achieve meaningful outcomes. In the Summer term, you will also support learners as they transition into work experience placements.

This is an ideal role for a tutor who enjoys small-group teaching, relationship-based learning, and supporting young people who may have struggled in mainstream education.

We are looking for someone who:
-Has experience supporting young people aged 16+
-Understands the needs of learners with SEND or SEMH
-Can plan and deliver engaging learning sessions
-Is organised and able to track learner progress and evidence for accredited qualifications
-Is patient, calm and able to build strong relationships with young people
-Is motivated to help young people succeed and move forward in their lives

Essential Requirements
Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Teaching, Coaching, Youth Work or Education
Enhanced DBS check
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance)
Willingness to travel to learning venues within East Sussex
