Food Bank Coordinator at Hangleton and West Blatchington Food Bank

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is looking to develop a volunteer driven service to support people within our community who find themselves in food poverty. The Hangleton & West Blatchington Food Bank is a registered charity based in Hangleton. Our doors first opened in 2014 and since then, as an organisation, we have gone from strength to strength, providing food and support for over 7500 individuals.

We now need a dynamic individual to help us evolve our service further so that we can continue to fulfil our commitment to our clients, some of whom have very complex needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is looking to develop a volunteer driven service to support people within our community who find themselves in food poverty.

Although we are only open to clients every Wednesday from 12pm to 2.30pm we are onsite from 1030. The remainder of the contractual hours will be taken up liaising with clients and building and utilising a local network of organisations working to end food poverty.
The successful candidate will be supported by a dedicated team of Trustees, a Cover Coordinator (to cover Coordinator absence and holidays) and a strong team of highly motivated volunteers.

This role would suit someone from a professional background who is used to communicating with a wide range of individuals, from a variety of backgrounds, who are often in crisis.
Although the roles and responsibilities are clearly outlined in the job description, we would encourage the successful applicant to mould the role to meet the needs of our client group with the support of their line manager who would be one of the trustees.

If you are interested in the position, please email us a copy of your CV and a letter to: trustees@hangletonfoodbank.org telling us why you think you are the perfect candidate for the role. A full Job description is available upon request.

We are committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone and encourage applications from all sections of the community, but we need to make candidates aware that not all areas of the hired accommodation are accessible to individuals with mobility issues. In order for us to recruit the right candidate, we would consider a job-share.

We will also be looking to recruit a Cover Coordinator.
When applying, please state which role you would be interested in.
