Royal Pavilion Archive is of national and international significance, it is unique and varied, covering the period from 1760s to the present day. This fixed term project is funded by The National Archives; Archives Revealed Cataloguing Grant with the intention to implement recommendations from a Scoping Report and radically improve the accessibility and searchability of this significant collection.
Working closely with wider colleagues and external partners you will focus on improving access to the archive from initial sorting and cataloguing through to sharing knowledge and supporting research. You will need to work effectively both independently, and in a team.
We are particularly looking for candidates who have demonstrable organisation and cataloguing skills, combined with experience of outreach. You should be passionate about sharing archival material with a wide range of audiences, confident in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders and be prepared to develop a volunteer group to work under your direction.
Joining the organisation at a time of innovation and change, and as a key member of the Collections Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to specific elements of our business plan. A good understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing museums, and archives within a museum context, is desirable.
