Volunteer Trustee – Property Management at Sussex Emmaus

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Sussex Emmaus is looking for a volunteer Trustee with experience in property management, buildings, maintenance, compliance, facilities or estates to join our Board and help shape the future of our charity.

As a Trustee, you will work collectively with the Board to ensure Sussex Emmaus is well governed, financially sustainable and able to deliver its charitable purpose. Your specialist knowledge will help us make informed decisions about our buildings and property assets, ensuring they remain safe, suitable, well maintained and fit for the future.

This is an opportunity to use your professional experience for a meaningful purpose, while contributing to the strategic leadership of a charity supporting people to overcome homelessness for good.

We are particularly looking for someone who can bring knowledge and experience in areas such as:

Property and estate management.
Building maintenance, repairs and planned works.
Asset management and long-term property strategy.
Health and safety and statutory compliance.
Fire safety, risk assessments and insurance.
Contractor and facilities management.
Leases, service contracts and property-related expenditure.
Capital projects and building improvements.
Business continuity and property-related risk.
Environmentally responsible and cost-effective approaches to property use and maintenance.
