Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity supports under-fives with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities and rare genetic disorders. We offer intensive early intervention services to children, providing physiotherapy, conductive education, swimming sessions, music therapy, speech and language therapy and home-play sessions - all free of charge.
The charity receive no statutory funding and are reliant on the goodwill of the community to continue to provide our life-changing services to families in need.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
As a Front Desk Volunteer for Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity, you'll be able to make a huge difference to children's lives. You will be the first point of contact for our families in the centre and an important part of their journey.
Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming families
- Welcoming visitors
- Assisting with queries
Where possible, Front Desk Volunteers will also undertake support with administrative tasks. The role is based at our centre in Chailey and runs Monday - Friday. We have opportunities for a full day or part day of volunteering.
What induction, training and support is offered?
Volunteers will be given a full induction on their first day volunteering with us.
They will also receive ongoing support and training from our team during their time volunteering with us.
