Voluntary Volunteer Coordinator at Chantry Farm Eco-Campsite

Chantry Farm is in an extraordinary location in the South Downs just north of Brighton. It has facilities for Eco-camping, Buddhist wakes and education. The farm is being developed according to Buddhist principles such as living in harmony with nature, ethics and the nurturing of human potential.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Why we need you: to assist the Director and other team members in encouraging and supporting people from Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas to participate in the conservation and preservation of Sussex Downland including Bronze Age monuments, with land and orchard management, vegetable patch growing, office administration. We need an active and enthusiastic volunteer to recruit, support and encourage volunteers to lend their skills.

What induction, training and support is offered?

Full induction and 1-2-1 training into the processes on the farm and the management of the site is provided.

What skills or qualities are needed?

What's involved:
• Recruitment, selection, organisation, development and support of volunteers.
• Create volunteer recruitment materials, including adverts, leaflets and role descriptions.
• Manage local distribution of recruitment materials, maintain database and ensure regular and positive contact with locations and partners.
• Help to organise and deliver volunteer recruitment campaigns, activities and events and carry out associated administrative tasks.
• Work with other team members to review and implement volunteer induction process.
• Arrange, attend and facilitate volunteer training.
• Oversee the volunteer group for one afternoon a week with option to run a second group on Sundays
• Liaise with the director regarding volunteer tasks and projects, offering suggestions and promoting the development of the project
• Assist with any other duties as reasonably requested.
