Maternity leave cover for PA to Officer for Lay Vocation and Ministry and Diocesan Youth Officer at Diocese of Chichester

We are seeking to appoint a Personal Assistant to provide PA support to the Officer for Lay Vocation and Ministry and Diocesan Youth Officer from February 2024 and to cover maternity leave of up to 12 months. This a full-time position, but we are willing to consider appointing at 4 days per week for the right candidate.

Your duties will include: 
Providing administrative support for the annual Reader selection conference
Maintaining files for students in Reader training and some administrative support to the Reader Tutor
Administration of courses and events for the Authorised Lay Ministry course, Readers courses and MDR scheme
Administrative support for the Living Faith course including the production of course materials, handbooks and session materials
Updating the Diocesan website and online courses offered on the Virtual Learning Environment
Organising events for the Diocesan Youth officer
Provide admin support to the DofE awards scheme, including maintaining contact with the leaders and local council.

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate the following:

IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint and Teams.
Experience of using a range of software in a business environment, including Eventbrite and Mailchimp.
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritise their workload
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of team and work flexibly to meet demands of the role.
Ability to work calmly when under pressure.

The post is offered with a salary of £24,000 per annum for 5 days per week, or £19,200 for 4 days per week.  The position is based at Church House, Hove with the opportunity to apply to use the DBF’s remote working policy to work from home for part of the week.  In addition, we offer a 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for 4 days per week) and 2 privilege days per year, flexi-time, free parking, the ride to work scheme, a range of staff development activities and the Diocesan Pension Scheme with 15.1% employer contribution.  

The post holder is required to support the ethos, aims and objectives of the Diocese and the Church of England.
