What does the opportunity involve doing?
B.fest is the Brighton Youth Arts Festival. Now in its 10th year, B.fest is the arts festival for and by young people. Run from Brighton Youth Centre and at venues across the city, B.fest brings together young people from across the south east and beyond to celebrate all things creative and cultural. Run during October half term week, and in the run up too, B.fest includes everything from skateboarding to stand-up, dancing to D n D, street art, radio, music, theatre and more. B.fest is for and by 13-19 year olds, with a youth board and young people engaged at every level of the project. The organisation and delivery of B.fest is supported by a team of volunteers, in a range of roles from stewarding to production assistance, workshop leading, supporting participation, working with young people etc.
What induction, training and support is offered?
Volunteers receive an information session about B.fest and an induction into the youth centre. There is follow up training depending on your role supporting B.fest and a broad health & safety, and safeguarding session for all volunteers.
