Volunteer Treasurer at Trans Pride Brighton

Trans Pride Brighton is the oldest and still the largest event of its kind in Europe. Our first Trans Pride was held in July 2013 and we now expect more than 10,000 attendees every year.

The last in-person event in 2019 was a week-long festival of gender diversity, featuring a movie night, a record auction, a fun run, club nights and more. We host the largest march for trans rights in the United Kingdom, and The Marlborough has acted as a starting point for the march.

During the pandemic we have moved our Trans Pride online, which has enabled us to reach an even greater audience, with more than 50,000 unique viewers for the live stream.

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Do you have administrative or money management experience?

Would you like the opportunity to apply this experience in a meaningful volunteer role to empower local trans, non-binary and intersex people whilst also enhancing your skills, boosting your self-esteem and meeting new people?

Trans Pride Brighton are looking for a treasurer to help the charity plan for the future, to develop yearly budgets and offer advice on internal financial management policies. The tasks of a Treasurer include the following:

Please note we welcome applications from the trans, non-binary, intersex and gender-variant community. Further to this, we recognize that those from Black trans communities, and non-Black People of Colour are under-represented in our team, as well as those with disabilities. As a course of positive action in order to improve the community representation in our team, we actively encourage applications from these under-represented groups. We also recognise the power of cisgender allies who use their privelige to raise up the trans community and welcome applications from allies.
