Treasurer & Trustee at The Trust for Developing Communities

What does the opportunity involve doing?

TDC is seeking an experienced, qualified finance professional, to join our Board of Trustees. We are a dynamic and growing charity tackling inequality in the City of Brighton and Hove and looking for someone to provide both scrutiny and support in overseeing the financial procedures, reporting and risk management.

Our work includes significant local authority contracts to deliver youth work; community development directly in neighbourhoods across the city; and work to address inequalities with Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee communities and with older people.

What induction, training and support is offered?

We will offer full training and support. You will be joining TDC at an important time as our City faces the unprecedented challenge of the Covid -19 pandemic. TDC has a crucial part to play in supporting communities to respond to this challenge – and the Treasurer is a key role to ensure that TDC maintains the robustness we have built up over 20 years.

What skills or qualities are needed?

We are looking for someone with extensive experience as a finance professional, qualified by examination, with commercial awareness and who can demonstrate knowledge and experience of charity finance practices.

As a values-led organisation it is important that you share TDC’s community development values and commitment to equal opportunities practice.

We would be looking for you to work with us approximately 1 day a month over a three-year term.
