General Helper at On Your Way

Help people into work or training or education, help create CV's, also help the elderly with computers, stay safely online and use other technology i.e: mobiles, laptops, tabs.

Venues will include Moulsecoomb Library, The Bevy Pub, Bevendean Foodbank, hopefully soon at Coldean Library

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Understanding and willing to help those people who may need a little extra time. Helping to draft a CV for someone, helping with a job search or helping the elderly how to use Facebook or simply getting online safely.

What induction, training and support is offered?

Digital skills and Personal Skills, no particular training needed but offered

What skills or qualities are needed?

The objects of the group shall be to support individuals from Moulsecoomb, Bevendean and surrounding neighbourhoods to get closer to the job market by giving advice on employment, education, apprenticeship and volunteering, and helping people access opportunities through digital inclusion therefore supporting people out of isolation, unemployment and to grow confidence.
We achieve this by:
a) providing drop-in sessions across Moulsecoomb & Bevendean, open and accessible to everyone in the community and beyond to receive CV writing skills, information to training providers, volunteering and other opportunities and access online job sites.
b) providing digital access through a variety of devices and advice on how to use them for specific purposes such as booking GP appointments, accessing online services.
c) encouraging people to meet peers and link with essential providers for training, advice & employment and community services
