EMPOWER Therapist Placement– (Project ADDER / OWRS) (Female*) at Oasis project

For over 24 years Oasis Project (Oasis) has been delivering services for women with drug and alcohol problems and children affected by drug use in the family. We are an innovative organisation aiming to empower women affected by substance misuse. We give help and hope to women and children affected by drug and alcohol problems. Our employees demonstrate understanding of the complex issues facing women substance misusers in order to help empower them to make choices that lead to change. EMPOWER is a new project for Oasis Women’s Recovery Service (OWRS).

What does the opportunity involve doing?

Based in Hastings
EMPOWER Therapist Placement: What you will do:
You will work with a small group of female clients who have stabilised in treatment and who are deemed able to access therapeutic intervention. The number of sessions may range for each client. This will depend on client need and the therapeutic plan decided with the client and therapist (taking into account the projects time limitations). The therapist will deliver a trauma informed therapeutic intervention for those clients who have experienced significant trauma and have co-occurring conditions/multiple complex needs.
You will have:
• Relevant diploma or similar qualification in psychotherapy at Masters degree level (or be working towards)
• Registration with appropriate professional body, e.g. UKCP, BACP, HCPC (or be working towards)
• Ideally have minimum 1 years’ experience of working with female clients
• Knowledge of issues facing women who have experienced trauma, and understanding of issues affecting women with multiple complex needs, particularly re substance misuse and mental health
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities
• Ability to be resilient, demonstrate an empathetic attitude and work in a way that is reflective, adaptable and non-judgemental, adhering to professional boundaries at all times

What induction, training and support is offered?

• You will receive a thorough organisational induction
You will be supported by the organisation and will receive free clinical supervision and travel costs.
• You will join an established team and receive support from the team in meetings and through line management.
• You will confident to work with complex trauma by the end of the placement.
• You will be working to support some of the most vulnerable women.

What skills or qualities are needed?

You will have:
