CHOMP sessions are run in various venues across Brighton and Hove during the school holidays. CHOMP provides low income families with a FREE engaging and fun morning that include arts and crafts, games, social interactions and ends with a hot and healthy meal for all.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
Volunteers can attend between one and five sessions in a week during the school holidays. Generally the team will arrive at the venue at 10.15am to help set up the morning's activities. The session starts at 11am when the families arrive. Duties can include helping with the craft table, or playing board games/ego etc, as well as making the families feel welcome and helping make teas and coffees. At some venues cooking opportunities are also available. By 12.15 the lunch tables are set out and the team serves the families a hot lunch. The volunteer team joins the families at the tables and everyone eats together. The CHOMP session ends at 1pm and then the team set about tidying away and washing up etc. The volunteer team will finish between 1.30pm and 1.45pm. We have volunteer opportunities currently available at sessions we run in central Brighton, Whitehawk, Portslade and West Hove.
