The Clock Tower Sanctuary is a drop-in day centre for homeless 16-to-25 year olds in the city. Based in central Brighton, it's a place where young people who have nowhere to call home can feel safe and 'just be'. We listen and respond to what they need and treat everyone as an individual. We know that no young person chooses to be homeless.
We provide crisis support- when young people arrive here they can be a state of distress. We freshly-cooked, healthy meals, clean clothes and a hot shower
We run weekly activities and workshops which help our clients to build their self-esteem and gain new life skills including yoga, men's/ women's group and CV writing.
We also offer one to one support - every young person who arrives at our day centre has their own unique set of circumstances. We work together with our clients to access the services they need, such as seeing a doctor or getting registered for benefits.
We do everything we can to help them move from crisis to stability.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
A lovely opportunity to raise money by smiling and holding a bucket outside a supermarket or other local venue. This is really nice way to talk about youth homelessness and to give the public a practical way to help.
