Grassroots is a UK leader in suicide prevention. We help to create safe spaces in our communities for Real Talk about suicide. We support people in our communities to develop the skills and confidence needed to save lives.

We believe that recovery from suicidal thoughts and suicidal behaviours is possible.
We believe that suicide can be prevented through open and direct conversations. We call this Real Talk.
We are a small, Brighton based charity with a simple but powerful goal: that no one should have to contemplate suicide alone.
We work locally and nationally with communities, organisations and individuals, helping them to become ready, willing and able to effectively support someone at risk of suicide, experiencing a mental health problem, or someone who self-harms.
What does the opportunity involve doing?
This is an exciting opportunity for a volunteer who shares our commitment and passion for suicide prevention to aid and support to the smooth running and organisation of the office training systems, processes and data entry.
We’re looking for someone to work one day a week, but we are flexible around this.
Duties and responsibilities:
Collect training feedback, equal opportunity forms and registers
Input collected data into database
Maintain confidentiality of all data entered
Organise and file any returned training materials
Support the Assistant Charity Officer in putting together material packs for training courses
Perform other duties as required or appropriate
What induction, training and support is offered?
Free attendance of our suicide prevention and mental health first aid courses
Full organisational induction
One-to-one support from Assistant Charity Officer on how to carry out tasks
Ongoing support from Assistant Charity Officer and check-ins with other members of staff
What skills or qualities are needed?
Detail-oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
Excellent organisational skills
Works well independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of database programs an asset
A positive, task focused, can-do attitude
