Specialist Mental Health Worker - Complex Domestic Abuse
Contract until 28/02/2022 (Secondment or fixed term) with possible extension subject to funding
Salary: £27,325 per annum
37 hours per week, home working and Haywards Heath (CDAU) and Brighton (BHT)
Annual Leave entitlement starts at 25 working days (pro rata)
5.5% employer’s pension contribution (the level of this is reviewed annually)
We are seeking an experienced Specialist Mental Health Worker to join a multidisciplinary team at the Complex Domestic Abuse Unit hosted by Sussex Police. As the dedicated Specialist Mental Health Worker, you will be engaging with identified domestic abuse perpetrators across Sussex to undertake direct case management, promote and support access to mental health services, deliver direct interventions and link perpetrators into other services as appropriate.
The aim of the role is to contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of this multiagency approach to harm reduction.
The post holder will have extensive experience of working with vulnerable people with multiple and complex needs, of mental health assessment, support planning and case work management. Experience of housing and accommodation-related support for people with mental health support needs is desirable though not a requirement. A proven track record of establishing, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with individual clients, voluntary and statutory organisations is required along with the ability to take the lead, be adaptable and to undertake reflective practice.
