The Central Hub (Previously known as Brighton & Hove Pupil Referral Unit) helps children and young people who have struggled with school to overcome their barriers to learning. This post is based in two of The Central Hub sites in the City, supporting secondary school age students.

Pupils who attend come from all over Brighton & Hove. They include children with special educational needs, as well as those who have significant gaps in their learning or who have been excluded from mainstream schools.

Applicants must be qualified counsellors/therapists and a Registered member of BACP; BACP accredited or registered with another recognised professional body (e.g. HCPC, UKCP).

Applicants must be experienced in counselling children and young people with special needs and behavioural challenges. Applicants must have experience of offering creative therapy interventions as well as traditional ‘talking’ therapies.

Experience of liaising with parents/carers, and school staff will be advantageous.
