Community Housing and Therapy (CHT) is a leading provider of Psychologically Informed Recovery Communities - 'where relationships are the treatment'. CHT works with adults and young people who have challenging and complex needs, many of whom have experienced negative childhood experiences or trauma, within a psycho-developmental framework in order to create an environment where the individual needs are met to enhance development, health and wellbeing with the aim of them moving on to lead successful and productive lives.
We offer a good working environment and great staff development as part of a small organisation that is passionate about providing high quality developmental support to young persons and adults experiencing mental distress and complex psychosocial disorders. We have a strong sense of values, a clear treatment and support model based on relational psychology, client participation and recovery, and a highly supportive clinical and management framework.
About the role:
The service offers psychotherapeutic and practical support to up to 15 people in a psychologically informed residential setting with crisis, respite and longer-term pathways. We are looking for caring, intelligent and enthusiastic people to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. Full training in recovery orientated therapeutic practice is provided with development opportunities within the organisation.
You will be dynamic and forward-thinking, with the ability to build authentic therapeutic relationships with our residents. You will be someone who can recognise that our residents have gone through significant trauma and therefore require patience, acceptance, understanding and empathy, as well as a clear therapeutic treatment plan, to allow them to progress down their recovery pathway.
Someone who understands boundaries but never forgets the need to be emotionally available and understands where our residents are coming from and what their goals are. A strong candidate will understand the psychodynamic processes involved in interpersonal relationships which are keys aspects of our therapeutic approach.
You will be someone who can bring your own personality and style and invest emotionally in the work with our residents and staff.
You will be keen to take part in our training and embrace our model of working.
