Project Worker – Brighton Young Families Project Brighton & Hove Full Time - 37.5 hours per week Permanent Contract £22,305 per annum An exciting opportunity within our supported housing service for young parents in Brighton and Hove has become available. We are recruiting a Project Worker to work alongside our wider housing team to support with the day-to-day operation of our Young Families Project, which houses 22 young families in locations across the City.

As a team member, you will take an assets-based approach, working with parents and their children in their homes to provide focussed family support which improves parenting capacity, increases the aspirations and motivations of families to take up education, employment and training opportunities and improves family function with children feeling more secure and parents confident in their parenting abilities.

The team work in a holistic manner, adopting a psychologically-informed approach to support young parents to transition into independent living throughout Brighton & Hove

As a service, we provide a safe and caring environment for young families, with their aspirations and desires always at the forefront of the support we offer them. Overall, our service seeks to encourage and empower young parents to move forward positively, and to learn and achieve the independent skills they need to live positive and fulfilling lives.

The role includes delivering one to one sessions and groups work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence.

You will carry a case load of young families and to engage them in effective support planning, working towards tailored goals so they can work towards positive outcomes.

You must have experience working with young parents and their children, particularly those considered vulnerable or with multiple and complex needs, and be able to encourage positive change in the individuals we work with by managing challenging behaviour appropriately.

You will be required to coordinate multiple tasks to ensure effective safeguarding of our residents in accordance with health and safety guidelines; and you should have the ability to engage, motivate, inspire and empower young families.
